How long will it take to loose 30 pounds on the High Protein Low Carb Diet?
I know that with the High Protein Low carb diet you will lose faster then low calorie diets because of Ketosis, but if you did the diet how long did it take you to lose? I am working out with a personal trainer, I just want to hear some personal experiences.

- don't try to go on a diet before talking to your doctor or health teacher.. trust me.
- You can loose weight with out dieting. People think that if your on a high protien diet, makes you loose weight and gain mucsle. Well sorry to burst your bubble, you dont really loose weight that easly. Protiens are the buidling blocks of muscle, if you workout, and diet (diet meaning eating healthy, not eating nothing!), and use protien pills, shakes, etc (high protien diet)i promise results!
- It depends on how much you weigh to begin with. You can definitely lose 30 pounds quickly on a low carb diet, but in order to keep it off you will have to make low carb a way of life, otherwise you will gain it all back and more. If you are willing to stick with the diet, i'd say it would take about a month of strict low-carbing to lose 30 lbs.
- Low Carb diets SUCK. Here is why: http://hubpages.com/hub/Low-Carbs---a-Good-Dietary-Choice
- I'm male, so this might need to be adjusted for the ratio of average female/male weights. With a strict low carb diet and about 45 minutes of walking per day I was able to lose about 10 pounds per month, so that would have been three months for me to lose 30 pounds.
- Doctors typically recommend a 40-30-30 diet ratio for carbs-proteins-healthy fats because if you consume less than 40% carbs and try to workout, your body needs energy from carbs so it will try to take that from your muscles, resulting in muscle loss. I actually wrote a blog about it for Prevention Magazine if you want to check it out: http://buzz.prevention.com/community/rachel/my-dieting-golden-rule-the-carb-protein-fat-ratio
