Diet for Hypoglycemia

Any doctors out there? Or people familiar with dieting and hypoglycemia?

I am hypoglycemic but need to lose about 15 pounds. What diet is safe for me? Also, I am a 22 year old female?

  1. I'm hypoglycemia and this has never really affected me. I was able to lose 30 pounds by eating healthy and eating 6 meals a day. Reduce all artificial sugars (which you should avoid anyways), eat fruit in the morning (not after 2pm as they do contain high sugars), you know that carbs (natural carbs are important) so make sure to keep this in your diet. Also, make certain to keep a good source of protein in your diet (but with chicken or with fish. Steak and pork is higher in fat). Working out is also very affective in losing weight, but as you know dizzy spells and exhaustion are factors, so make certain to drink orange juice or apple juice (natural) after each workout to replenish your sugars. Best of luck!!!
  2. ok the best thing to do is eat properly.. and ull lose weight. im hypoglycemic as well... and i gained so mouch weight because iw ud jsut stuff my mouth with sugary stuff everytime i got dizzy. what u need to do is eat every 2 hours.. no matter what.. eat fibery stuff and complex carbs like whole wheat and brown rice. pasta is good to... to eat things that are on the low end of the glycemic index (just type in glycemic index on google and ull find many pages with foods). eat alot of meat and protein.. these take long to break down in ur body so u stay full for longer and it keeps ur blood glucose levels stable.. since it takes long to braek down, u burn more calories tryin to metabolize it. even tho fruits are good for u... dont eat fruits tht have too mouch fructose (tht will break down to glucsoe really fast too).. as u do this u will notice that u wont have blood sugar drops as often and wont crave sugary food as much and u will see the pounds melt away. so if u want u can raed more about it if u follow the low glycemic index diet.. or dieabetic deit.. its the same good luck
  3. I'm no doctor, but I know the south beach is really good about regulating your blood sugar levels. Most people loose 8-14 pounds the first two weeks. You can find a list of foods here. http://thingamalist.com/list/lists.php
