- i would be guessing, but my guess is,he has some rare or inherited illness that's not too commonly seen. So,please go to the Bristol's hospital, see a specialist,as its obvious,a regular dr cant seem to diagnose him.whatever he has,he got it since birth and he needs help. I am wondering, if there is a problem with his small intestine absorbing nutrients? a problem or insufficiency of the pancreas? a lot of time liver and pancreas troubles can go together. until you see the specialist, give him several small meals a day, several small snacks too. I do this:i have a problem with my intestines(im not a dr) sometimes i even have to get up at night or very early in the morning to eat half of a banana or drink a little juice as i get shaky/dizzy and have painful hunger pangs in the middle of the night. what you describe,he can hardly be awaken:he is going into a hypoglycemic shock. try to awake him every 3-4 hours, give a little bit of juice or piece of banana or favorite fruit, make sure he doesn't choke, and swallows the snack.
