Diet for Hypoglycemia

Im worried about my mother who has diabetes and often faints from hypoglycemia?

Recently events lead to my diabetic mother residing in a house alone. Am i right to worry that its dangerous to let her live by herself given the fact that she suffered a few times from episodes of hypoglycemia (passing out, talking weird, tired etc) and we had to force her to drink sugar. I worried that what if that happened again and no one was there? what will happen?

  1. I would recommend that she keeps something sweet "sugar" with her at all times and if possible she lives with someone.
  2. if she has a pump it would be better becasue she could get constang glucose monatering which will let her know if she is high or low becasue sime people dont feel changes, but ask if there is a solution without a pump. i am sorry this all i can say
  3. I wouldn't let my mother be alone in that situation, but I know how difficult it must be for you. A bottle of regular soda is a great, really fast way to keep from passing out. It works faster than anything I've tried and 7oz. does the trick. It gives you the time to eat or phone. It will help her from falling.
